Dutch groundwater management strategy and artificial recharge
–
Deltares and KWR hosted a delegation from the National Groundwater Institute of Thailand, on Friday 21 February. The group was interested in the groundwater management strategy in the Netherlands and in artificial recharge as a remedy for drought.
We visited Dunea’s infiltration ponds in the coastal dunes near The Hague to see how drinking water is being produced. We also visited the Mijdrecht polder to show our visitors the Dutch subsidence knowledge programme.
Presentations were given by TNO Geological Survey of the Netherlands on the subsurface database and on the National Hydrological Instrument (NHI) by Deltares.
